A Summer of Free Audiobooks!

I love audiobooks! Living in the Washington D.C. area, and working as a substitute teacher, I can have anywhere from a 10 minute commute to an hour in the car one way. My average tends to be about 30 minutes one-way. Once I get a full-time job, I hope to move a little closer, in order to save on gas and commute time. Until then though, audiobooks are a great way to "read" while driving. I get my audiobooks in a variety of ways, but there's a great way to get YA audiobooks for free throughout the summer. Ok, so even with my goals of starting this up again I've been absent for 2 months. Still, you have to start somewhere, so today, I'm starting with a Movie Monday post. The Long Absence

I admit it, I pretty much disappeared this semester except for a few days during AASL, which was a great conference. Unfortunately, I simply didn't have any time to post this semester. I was working close to full-time and taking 3 classes, the combination of which left me without much if any free time. Additionally, two of those courses were education classes, and they required a lot of reading and work. My education classes are now firmly behind me, and I will not be taking any more than 2 classes per semester from now on. Next semester, I am taking a Children's Literature course, so in addition to the YA that I often read, I will likely be talking about and reviewing some children's books as well. (My current favorite is Pete the Cat btw.) In the four days since my semester officially ended, I have read 3 books, and I am going to begin reviewing them soon. I picked up a lot of books at AASL so be on the look out for some giveaways. Many of these books are the actual published book and many have been signed, though there are some ARC's as well.

Movie Mondays 7/29/2013

Here's the latest on the YA movies that are coming up! Am I missing a movie that you want updates on? Then leave a comment to have it added to my list!

Shailene Woodley has announced that she plans to return for Insurgent, the sequel to Divergent, if the first film does well and a second is picked up.

Crave Online has announced that The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes, the sequel to the upcoming City of Bones movie will be filming in Toronto. The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones will be in theaters 8/21/13.

Hypable has an interview with James Dashner, author of The Maze Runner.

The Huffington Post has a review of The Spectacular Now. It didn't seem spoileriffic to me, but click at your own risk.
